4th August.

Decided to catch the train to Blois today so across the river early.

Felt like we were being watched while waiting at the station then I spotted this fellow.

Off on the train and in no time (9 minutes) we were there. Past some interesting building on the outskirts. Blois train station deserted one minute after the train arrived.

Booked into a modern hotel near the centre of town for two nights so we can have a good look around the area and visit a couple of nearby chateaus. The hotel room was very much like a private hospital room.

Had a magic museum that had these dragons coming out of the windows and putting on a bit of a show. Had seen them advertised everywhere but didn't realise that we would be near them. Pretty good actually.

Had a look at the chateau Royal. Again very big and impressive.

What more can I say. Other blokes more bored than me got turned to stone.

Lots of stairs and up to have a good view of the courtyard.

View over the town.

Went for a walk around town and discovered that stone age man hadn't died out when I saw this characters hair cut.

Had a look in the church and up the front it had strange looking madonna.

Couldn't help but think if you shook it snow should fall down like one of those old christmas snow dome things. All the older folk will know what I'm talking about.

  1. Graeme, can't believe how jealous you are that you can't have your hair cut the same way. Still enjoying keeping up with all your travels. Hope Annette and you are both well. Look forward to catching up with you on your return. Keep safe. Love Melita
