9th June.

Off to visit a cave near the charming village of Saint-Bauzille de Putois. The caves were right up near the top of a very high cliff face. Very commercialised and had an electric tram type thing to get you in and a huge area under cover out the front with a restaurant, starting to get the picture. I decided I couldn't be bothered going in and was happy just to lounge around and have a look along the cliff face. Annette said it was pretty ordinary at the beginning but was impressed when they came out into a very big room, the "Cathedral of the Abyss". Plenty of stalagmites and a few stalagtites I guess as well. Annette said the biggest danger was a huge fellow and she was worried that he might fall on one of them.

They all got out before the next group caught up with them and we went down to the village where we had a pleasant lunch served up by a pleasant fair haired lady. Needless to say I ordered and paid, but why they all have to smoke is beyond me.

Off to the next item on the list and we came upon an interesting bridge across a river. Pulled up and went for a bit of a walk. Sometimes some of the best things to see you just come across when you are not looking. First you dam the river, then build a aqueduct to your house. I like it.

Drove through some poor looking country to come out onto the top of a huge valley with a small village down the bottom. Very pretty. Quite a scary trip down to the village on a road made for one French car and back up the other side. In fact most of the trip was on that type of road where the driver had to concentrate 100 percent.

I'm not saying that Sue was a tad concerned but her body language is reflecting the straight down drop on her side on this mostly one vehicle road.

Back to Montpellier where we had dinner at a sea side town with Sue and Vince and dipped out hands into the Mediterranean Sea.
