16th July.

Woken last night when bitten by a mosquito on the arm. For some reason the ones over here sting for ages after they bite you. Thought ok she had her bite for the night. Wrong. Bitten on the middle of the back in the wee hours and unable to scratch there so it was on with the head lamp and she was tracked down and squashed. Blood, mine, now on the tent wall.

Up early to find someone had tried to flush a large paper bag down one of the toilets. You just have to wonder why they would do that. Very new toilet block with all the walls constructed with a type of glass material. I think you would want to be careful how close you got to the wall in the shower before more than just a vague shadow was visible. Interesting.

Off walking along the road at 8am accompanied by the church bells. Morning tea purchased and off for a steep uphill (naturally) walk to visit the Chateau de Fenelon. Arrived there 45 minutes before it was due to open so a bit of a rest and morning tea. Clouds giving away to sun so looking like a nice day.

Finally open and allowed to wander around the grounds and into the old keep in which they had set up with furniture to suit the rooms from different periods. It was actually very interesting and well worth the extra walking time to get there. We spent one and a half hours wandering around. It had two defensive walls and the whole structure was built on top of the rock on the hill.

View of the chateau.

In the court yard was an old well.

Off and more road walking and across an old rail bridge but to get there Annette had to climb up these steep steps.

Choice of two caravan parks. Walked past the first one as it appeared to be fairly large, dry and dusty. Found this near the second one. Now, i could do with this.

Into the second smaller park and appeared to be shall we say, less feral but it cost a whopping 20 euros. Found a nice pitch under a youngish plane tree so reminded us of the blocks driveway trees at home. Sweet dreams.
