20th July

You would think it would have the decency to pour rain when we are in a bed but not a drop overnight. Late getting organised and had breakfast in the hotel. The old bridge.

Up through the old town which was interesting.

Wasn't long before we had the wet weather gear on. Past this nice gateway.

Along all sorts of tracks today. This was one of the more narrow ones.

This a typical country road along a valley between the towns of Coly and
St-Amand-de-Coly. The narrow wheat crop went for kilometres.

Arrived in St-Amand-de-Coly and checked out the Abby which was unusual in that the floor sloped up to the alter.

Lunch was beside a corn crop.

Met two attractive looking ladies walking up the track and after they went past Annette made some comment about them. I didn't really hear what she said but I commented that they were probably thinking that they could give you a bit of a shove and you would be unable to get back up and then they could have their wicked way with your husband. Annette burst out laughing and said she just loved my blind optimism. Well I thought it would have been a good plan. Shows how the mind wanders when it's a long day.

Arrived in Manignac where we were staying and found the streets covered in decorations.

Set up in the caravan park which was the most expensive yet, 23 odd euros for a patch of muddy grass and 11 odd euros to use the washing machine and dryer. I'm in the wrong game. To make matters worse they had some sort of dinner in the rec room which turned into a dance with a band which didn't shut down until 11.30pm. I don't know how they could stand the noise in the room cause it was bloody loud outside. To really top it off at least twice they sang YMCA by the Village People. Boy , when I got up to go to the loo I really wanted to go around with a dust bin lid singing out Y..M...C...A... and it's f&@?£&g 5am in the morning.
