24th July.

Much relieved that none of the lions escaped last night or at least I think they didn't. Began to think about it during the night and thought we would have no idea if one did and we would just be wandering around the countryside when everyone else was locked up inside. Oh well, we would be just a couple of tourists like the odd one our crocodiles take every so often I suppose.

Up early and off on the GR trail for most of the day. Entrance to the caravan park. Used to be a farm house.

Arrived in Le Bugue a nice old town and no, it's not me drinking coffee, hot chocolate.

Morning tea and off on the trail. Sun came out so we stopped to dry out the tent whilst having lunch.

Rear entrance into the town of Limeuil. Full of interesting old buildings.

Walked down to the river where the La Vezere River joins the La Dordogne River

Out of town and up on to the top of the cliffs.

The GR trail today went past a few of these collections of houses. When we got to these I took a detour off the GR to have a look at the front of the house and a lady came out and politely directed me back onto the trail. Annette was around the corner trying to keep a straight face.

Past a large old farm house where there were about 6 or 7 old people on lounge chairs near a large pool. Well, people our age Annette reminds me. Nearly every second house seems to have a pool. Anyway, this was way out in the bush and it sort of surprised me a bit and here we were sweating our way past and there they were just lying about at 3pm in the afternoon. I thought, where is James when you need him to lob a few rocks into the pool to stir things up a bit.

Into Tremolat where we are staying and again some interesting buildings.

Glenthompson brick pizza ovens are looking a bit boring now.

Our tent pitch for the night.

See, she can still smile after walking for about 30 kilometres.
